Vanessa & Sophia wedding (take 2)

#1

Post by Butterfly Maiden »

Some of you may recall that way back in June 2020 I made an announcement on the Forum that Sophia had just proposed to me (27 June). I had accepted and we started to make plans for our wedding. (The original post has since been deleted so I can’t give you a link to it.)

Unfortunately, COVID Lockdown had started in March 2020 and this had an impact on public events being allowed for the foreseeable future.

This caused us to postpone our plans, however, we were (and are) still officially fiancée to each other which we celebrated with the exchange of engagement rings.

As purple is our favourite colour, we opted for identical purple Sapphire and Diamond cluster rings…

engagement-ring-2a.jpg
engagement-ring-2.jpg

I did receive a few PMs from some of our members at the time asking me to keep them informed of our future plans, so I have decided to honour their requests by posting this information.

We are now making plans for a wedding next year (2024). A provisional date has been set, but I am not going to reveal that on the public forum :shhh: .
As Sophia’s birthday is in May, and my birthday is in August, we have chosen a date somewhere in between.

We intend to travel up to the Lake District where Sophia’s parents live and have the service there. We just want a simple service, with her family and our close friends in attendance.

This is the invitation we had made up previously. As it was done by a friend and is only going out to a small number of people, it is not a problem to have them reprinted with the new date and location.

Finally, I originally posted a photo of Sophia along with the announcement. She is quite a private person, just like me, and doesn’t really like having her photo taken. She did give me permission to post ONE photo of her, and she is allowing me to post it again.

And before you ask, I won’t be posting any wedding photos on the Forum. Some will be taken but only for family and friends in attendance.

We haven’t made any honeymoon plans yet, but there is plenty of time for that.
