The sunspot complex, AR3664 and AR3668, is around 200, 000km or 15-18 Earth diameters across.

The Sun has been playing hide and seek playing hard to get these past days. I've caught brief glimpses of these huge sunspot groups with my solar filtered naked eyes or with filtered 10x42ED binoculars through thin cloud or in brief breaks, none warranted setting up a scope until today. I've added a small blue dot to scale the group against the Earth. the group is slightly foreshortened because we are now viewing it at an angle as it moves towards the solar limb. This group is slightly bigger than the group that spawned the Carrington event in 1859.
