Tenth March Sun 2024 / Hydrogen / Calcium / Magnesium / Sodium
Finally made some progress on the magnesium filter after some time tinkering and waiting.
The first time I shot all these filters all in a single session and the first light for the Mg filter or at least this X-2 version...
Was an early start beginning at 8 am out the east facing kitchen window this go, Temps out there were 40° F and with very little wind it took over an hour to aclimate the Solar Kitchen.
70mm / 385mc / Solar Wedge / Homebrew Filters
Another clear day tomorrow they say so we'll see if I get another go then...
Best of luck Everyone and have an Awesome Week!

Yes...the filter assembly has a tight band pass wich is great but as all these filter hacks require discovery to figure out the best possible histo and exposure settings as well multiple restackings of the elements to test preventing reflections to the sensor and test all possible configurations for the best possible arrangement.
It will take about 4 to 5 imaging sessions to acomplish all that after I am happy with initial results, then when done I immediatly begin thoughts of the next build.
The plan now is to try for one more filter creation this year, and get my full disc hydrogen alpha finally working,
Busy Beeing this filter work is...Indeed
