It's the story of the "green rush" in California (the timber equivalent of the gold rush), and the creation of the Headwaters Forest Reserve. The shady characters involved in the aggressive extraction and destruction of the redwood groves of northern California are surprising: California university departments, a preservation society that was a front for a green washing operation, and not so surprising, a venture capitalist and of course politicians.
It's homework because I'll be privileged to lead hikes in the the reserve, starting next summer!

All of them?
I've read Dune three of four times during the last 50 years, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune twice, and gave up on God Emperor probably 25 years ago.
Since the Villeneuve film I have acquired the full set, adding Heretics and Chapterhouse, as well as the Dune Encyclopedia.
At some point I hope to delve back in.
