I think I have forgotten how fantastic this event was. And maybe, with all our technological progress since then, I have allowed it to become a mere commonplace event in my memory. But it was no such thing.
Later my Uncle told stories of his work in all of this and it made the hair stand up on the back of my head. It amazed me then and still amazes me today that the rocket did not tip over as it slowly rose from the launch pad.
