The Croc's Eye galaxy

#1

Post by jazzin »

My second attempt at capturing M94 the Croc's Eye galaxy. The moon was just past first quarter when I shot this so I had a lot of gradients in the image which is why i had to crop it so much. But I still think it came out ok. This is 42 - 6 min frames calibrated and integrated and processed in PixInsight taken through my Orion 8" Astrograph with my modded Canon T7i dslr

That is a great image, nicely done on the Croc's eye; you brought out why is was so aptly named!

Never knew it was called Croc's Eye. But the name does fit -- especially as viewed in the detail you managed to capture in your image.

Congrats on the TSS APOD award.

The image before I cropped it does resemble a crocodile's eye or a dinosaur eye. It is freakishly uncanny

Congratulations on the APOD.

Great inner detail and you've even captured some of the outer spiral arms in less than ideal conditions. Well done!
