The EmDrive is fatally flawed and will never work regardless of how well it is lubricated with snake oil IMO.

Interesting but I have to admit I'm a bit skeptical as well. Science-fictiony.

As in being completely free of science?

Re: NASA's EmDrive Leader Has a New Interstellar Project
This certainly was a fun read! Thanks for posting this, Michael. I struggle to comprehend a lot of things like this, but when I read the article, I didn't feel alone, because the inventors cannot agree about if they are actually getting thrust (?), and if so, they cannot explain why they are getting thrust. I felt in good company there.

Re: NASA's EmDrive Leader Has a New Interstellar Project
"Harold White left NASA in December ..."
So he will take his EM drive elsewhere. In that context, I am grateful that he did not come to work for my employer. [And, just in case he reads this... I mean that in the nicest way, and wish him luck in his new digs.]

Re: NASA's EmDrive Leader Has a New Interstellar Project
The scientific consensus is that there is no thrust, just measurement error. The better they make the experiment the smaller the thrust gets. It vanishes like the smile of a Cheshiresmp wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 6:01 pm This certainly was a fun read! Thanks for posting this, Michael. The "explanations" for why they might expect thrust are fundamentally flawed. Does a bull crap in the field? No one with an understanding of zero point energy etc. believes in this proposal. It fails independent tests and violates conservation laws.

Perhaps this is the best reply to the promoters of this EM drive?

Re: NASA's EmDrive Leader Has a New Interstellar Project
Once at NASA HQ I asked the question why they were spending any money at all on this stuff. The answer I got was: "It's not much, we look at it as PR to keep the Trekkies happy."AntennaGuy wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 6:21 pm Perhaps this is the best reply to the promoters of this EM drive?
At that point I knew that I was doomed.
