I've been gathering documents for tax day for quite some time. I still get most of them by snail mail and put them in a manila folder, will start working on that project by the end of February....fun. I'm also one of those folks who likes to fill out 1040 and all of the schedules by hand instead of turbotax or whatever. I always owe money so I don't get the joy of a quick EFT refund...

Today was spent with a wiring schematic, harness and multi meter.
I love this time of year as the motocycle gets rebuilt and ready for the new racing season.
I hate the electrical side of going through the wiring harness bit by bit to make sure all wires and connectors are in good shape.

Morning: go through wiring/ refine ability to swear in multiple languages

Afternoon: install harness, ecu, sensors, data acquisition box. Connect laptop to motocycle, do best to not give components a tap with 10 kg mallet when the computer repeatedly says cannot communicate with.... explore in great detail the lineage of various italian and asian manufacturers and their ability to produce compatible items. Go explore wine cooler.

Evening: Return to shop, threaten to donate motocycle for a remake of junkyard wars. Turn things on and it all connects properly.
Confirm again the ability to swear in multiple languages while eyeballing mallet, finish component tests.

I just took my aspirin lol

Our finances are very simple so our taxes are also pretty simple

But ran into issues this year, first I used a tablet because my computer died so that made things a bit harder.

But the biggest issue was all my documents were in different formats, stuff to upload, stuff to download, then paper, then my credit union just sent me typed stuff, so there are no box numbers lol

My taxes are very simple. I just use the standard deduction. Here's what I made, here's what you took, now give me the rest back...I already got my federal refund. New York State likes their money so my state refund takes a lot longer to get to me. N.Y.S is like a billionaire that goes to McDonalds and debates on whether they should get something from the $1 menu or not...

Good luck with that Gary. They can be a nightmare.
Yeah! Contacting these companies and Govt. agencies is nearly impossible: especially if their on-line access isn't working (ie: most of the time!)- except if they want money from you...

I have been trying for 2 weeks just to get an account statement from an insurance company so I can complete an application to a Govt department: their robots keep referring me to their human minders, but they never pick up! It would be nice if they simply took your details an called back when they can: but they seem to prefer to have you waiting on the phone listening to mindless musak. Aaargh!

Sorry, enough complaining- but it is current and ongoing as I write!

Good luck Gary: I hear you! ;)

I just let the accountant take care of taxes.
He does my business taxes and personal.
So far he seems to be doing a good job as the police have not arrived to chat with me :)

I noticed that I needed a new GFI outlet in the bathroom, so the adventure began.

After taking the old one out I noticed it was not marked Line and Load.

So I turned the power back on and got my trusty meter, it showed both lines without power, huh? So I tested the meter on another circuit, no power!

What did I do wrong, the whole house now had no power and the breakers were all on!

Just then, my phone beeps an alert, there's a black out on my block 😆 what are the odds?!
