If you have a lot of patience you might have better luck.
I had 2, and they were not cheapies, I wanted to throw them in the woods LOL.

Seems like a good idea to try the GoPro. I have the Celestron NXY but the weight of it with the phone on makes it a little clunky, especially on my refractor. Put the mount together in the house in the light.
Mount the Eyepiece in the bracket. Not all Eyepieces lend themselves to this. Using an

Mount the cell phone on the bracket and turn on the camera. Look through the phone cam with the

Tighten up the brackets.

Carefully take your assembly and set the

Fine tube with adjustments on you cell phone mount.

Focus the telescope.
It can be a little fiddly but this process is the least frustrating to me when I am doing cell phone of the moon.
