If you have any ideas for the July 2019 challenge we would love to hear them!

Please posts your suggestions to this thread, we will put them in the hat for the draw at the end of June!

Remember to be sure they are visible from both hemispheres and easily found with smaller scopes under moderately light polluted skies.

Looking forward to your suggestions!!!

My suggestion: The Wild Duck Cluster with a description of why you think it is called the Wild Duck cluster. This is an easy bino target but anything less than 15X won't show the structure.

Cheers,
JT

Ptolemy Cluster M7, and Butterfly Cluster M6.
Possible naked eye, easy binocular and scope.

M17 the Omega Nebula - easy in binoculars and small scopes, just great in scopes of 8" aperture and above as well. Punches through the LP quite well actually - better than the Trifid or Lagoon.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, already see some nice variety!

With all the rubbish weather of late the rain suggestion might be a valid one!

Well, with everyone offering a different suggestion, it seems you've already got more than enough to work with.

I'd be happy with any of the above … except the RAIN. We already had too much of that in June.

I can get some quite good observations in of the rain here this entire spring and (Very) early summer.

:Boo:

Good for the gardens though, I guess.
