Re: Dew and Your Binoculars
Keep them capped during the breaks. When you observe, heat from your face should keep them form dewing.Refractordude wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 7:01 pm I have seen images of binoculars with dew shields. These shields are on the front lenses. What do you do about dew on binocular fixed/permanent eyepieces? Thanks to you all.

Re: Dew and Your Binoculars
It doesn't happen very often. I usually put the binoculars under my coat, to warm them up. This can't be done with the really big ones of course.]What do you do about dew on binocular fixed/permanent eyepieces?
Preventing is better, so I take care to have enough distance eye <-> eyepiece. Against ambient light (which is the next problem) I use a hood or my thumbs. It is an unstable balance between dew and ambient light.
In short: none of the solutions I tried is adequate.
