Nisi Natural Night iPhone filter is a winner

#1

Post by Tailspin45 »

A new iPhone 11 Pro Max promoted me to return to astrophotography after a long hiatus thanks to eye problems now fixed.

Night Mode on the phone camera works a treat, as my friends from the UK would say, but I live in a San Diego CA suburb and "enjoy" Bortle 6 skies.

Scoured the web without finding a real consensus on a solution other than moving, but was impressed by A/B comparison images produced by a Nisi Natural Night filter.

And it works! Right of the camera images (size reduced).

My only complaint is the filter holder ($40) on has a tiny hole in it that has to moved to whatever camera lens you're using. I thought it was designed to cover all three because the$20 filter is so large.
