That shot was made with a SkyWatcher 100ED scope (
f/9) equipped with a heavy-duty, 2" Crayford focuser. On the back end...
A Baader UV/IR-cut filter placed in front of the 90 deg diagonal
A Quark-Chromosphere set at +3 for the surface and -2 for the prom and spicules
A ZWO ASI174MM-cooled cam
1000 frames captured @65 FPS with SharpCap software... Gain 158 & Gamma 68. Here's a pic of the rig:
100 frames stacked in AutoStakkert II, and a Lucy-Richardson deconvolution via IMPPG.
Color added and a few "tweaks" in Photoshop CC, and she's ready to go.
