Some time ago I said I'd try to post an image I took a few years ago when our Sun was a little busier than it is at present. I pm'd the mods to find out how to post images but didn't get a reply but someone else asked the question in Beginners Forum so here goes.....

Now you're really rubbing our noses in it!

Cracking shot, though.

Great shot, Keith! That reminds me of what it was like when you started teaching me how to do this stuff.

You're the best my friend.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll still be around for the next Solar Maximum Bryan.

A great image and reminder of hours of observing sunspots Keith.
This minimum seems bound to last longer than normal. :(

Indeed I'm wondering if something like the Maunder Minimum isn't happening.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maunder_Minimum

I've mixed feelings about that. OTOneH it plays hell with solar observing and is bad. OTOtherH it would possibly cause a little global cooling and give us a reprieve from our suicidal stupidity on fossil fuels.

Then I wonder about the new equipment sky demons.... If I buy a Quark will I prolong the minimum? Does their reach extend that far? ;)

Yes, depending on mood. :D
So then the moral dilemma..... place an order to make the world safe for grand progeny? hasten the sunspots by waiting?

Or it's possible that your purchase could turn the tide and cause the spots to return!!!

The weather demons are unreliable that way! They crave sacrifices for reliability. I'm not giving up my Panoptics to appease them though! Have to draw the line somewhere......

Better hurry. I expect the domain to go completely defunct when it's time to pay the DNS bill. It'd be a shame to lose all that good work. I'd like to see it saved here.
