I call this dish Salsa Sardines. It is very easy to make. Just add the Newman's mild sauce to a small pot with three 3.5 ounce cans of sardines, and a quarter stick of quality butter. Heat it up on a middle heat until it evaporates by about five percent. Salt to taste after cooking. Serve over plain rice. Show us what you had for dinner, if not tonight future evenings. Thanks

Too late.... I ate mine. It was a spring greens salad, chopped scallion, grape tomatoes, olives, salmon and Newman's light balsamic vinegar. For dessert I had low sodium whole grain crackers, swiss cheese and a 4 oz. glass of Central Valley Chile Cabernet Sauvignon.

My pre sleep snack will consist of 1.5 oz blended scotch (I save the Quinta Ruban for weekends) and a square of Theo Intense Orange 70% cacao chocolate.

It's a week night after all.... ;)

Yeah, I ate mine. Chicken souvlaki, pita, tomatoes, onions, and Greek potatoes. Couple of mini scones and coffee for desert.

Tonight I break into the pre-season panettone unless I'm stuck in a snowbank on the commute home.

Had an early dinner at an Indian Buffet. Tandoori chicken, Biryani goat, and Naan bread. I think the other items were Singapore noodles and some kind of fried potato dumpling.

Found an image of Yankee pot roast. If you lived on my block, I would be knocking on your door. I would bring some desert with me of course.

I'm not sure my pot roast is going to come out so beautiful.
Tandoori chicken and naan plus curry and aloo pak is delightful, I love Indian buffets. Unfortunately a great place on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley, called Naan & Curry recently shut down. There is a new one that opened up in the gourmet ghetto (by Chez Panisse) called Jotmahal but I haven't tried it yet.

Had baked chicken from the supermarket, nothing else. Not healthy, but very good tasting. Meat should not be eaten alone.

Hello Refractordude and all. Sunday afternoon we did my homemade chicken noodle soup. I precook the chicken in the bottom of the 6 qt. stockpot with some peanut oil. Then I I add some chicken stock, water, and the chopped de stringed celery, onions, and peas. Later, I add lots of shell noodles, and some kosher salt, lemon pepper, and fresh parsley. Let it simmer for a good while, so the flavors combine and recombine for new flavors. My wife says this is better than any canned mix or in the restaurants, and we made enough for 2 or 3 days. I was feeling pretty good about it until I read your other thread about eating less chicken.

Hi Refractordude and all. By the time I saw this thread, we had already served up some soup. I wanted to expand on the celery part. I don't know how many times we have enjoyed cream of celery soup or a cut cold salad plate and folks are choking on the celery strings. Many years ago, I figured a way to avoid this. I cut the celery at the top, and then near the base. Rinse, and then use a potato skin peeler to remove the strings on the back side and rinse again. Don't press too hard, as you don't want to lose the good part of the celery. I also take the fresh celery top sprigs and miter cut (on an angle) the leaves and add them to the soup. We love how the peas like to hide in the shell noodles. I felt bad about only showing you a bowl of soup before. Sheri and I have ladled down what is left of the soup into a large sauce pan. But, there is still lots left y'all, so come on down and enjoy.

Does this mean one should not eat only meat for a meal, or one should eat meat only in the company of at least one other person?

I know that I have violated the principle either way...

I had refried beans, so either way, it would look about the same.
