05/02/24 Sun in W/L and CaK

Post by Thefatkitty »

Hey everyone,

It's been a nice day here, no rain for a change. Cloudy this morning, but that cleared up at about 11AM and even though it was a bit of a cool breeze, it was nice to be in a T shirt. I'm so done with April!

I had a dentist appointment at 2, nothing beats that, I had an old filling that needed attention. Got that done, came home about 4 and took some shots of the Sun. Now my mouth is sore and I'm hungry to boot. Time for some Habitant French Canadian Pea Soup.
Comfort food for an old ex-Quebecois

Here's what I got with my WO 61 MM. The white light is with my Baader 3.8OD film with a 7.5nm Solar Continuum and a UV/IR cut behind it.

And this is Ca-K with the same scope and 3.8 filter, but with a Baader Ca-K and a clear glass filter behind that. The Baader clear glass is just that, and between the white light and Ca-K I don't have to adjust the focus; two filters for both.
All Baader filters are parfocal :D

OK, enough of me. Have a good day/night all!

Ca-K - W/O 61mm, Antares 1.6 barlow, Baader 3.8 OD and Ca-K filters with a ZWO ASI174mm.
W/L - C80-HD with Baader 5.0 & 3.8 Solar film, Solar Continuum 7.5nm and UV/IR filters with a Canon EOS 550D.
