New Image: Galaxy IC342

#1

Post by BigKahuna »

I took this data back in early Febuary with my, then new, 533MC Pro and recent download of Pixinsight. The outcome was terrible, yesterday I tried processing it again in Pixinsight. I used a duo band filter on this and in the fall will add shots with the UV/IR filter. This is a tough image to shoot as it is pretty dim.

Nice one Ron! Yes, this is a very dim target due to Milky Way interstellar matter getting in the way. You got great detail in the galaxy arms.

I got as much detail as I could out t of this. The original was just, blah. A galaxy behind a wall of stars.
