Sun April 22nd 2024 Hydrogen beta
Good Day All !
Got started at 9am with the seeing just ok but I pushed on and captured what I could but in the end the H beta disc was all that came through,
For as steady as things looked the resulting images told a different story...
Hoping to get some more chances soon as some more Sun is in the forecast the next few days.
Was an awesome Sunny day through out though, and I did have some fairly good live viewing even with all the seeing issues discovered later...
Well, Another one down,
Best of Luck and Have a Great Week Everyone !

Nice capture Aaron! You got me confused there for a moment. I was, hmm, it does not look like H alpha...

Re: Sun April 22nd 2024 Hydrogen beta
Thanks indeed,
Its a broader band H beta of about 2nm...still crazy expensive to buy, you have to get down very narrow before H beta starts to resemble H Alpha, even tighter than H Alpha itself because the line is narrower and sports much less amplitude...
Thats actually why daystar quit manufacturing thier H beta quark, just too expensive to produce to that level.
I like the colour myself, in good seeing it can get some more interesting details too.
