Hello everyone, my name is Andii and I am new here. I'm not sure if this question is related to this section, but I'm hoping someone can help me with this or redirect me to another forum section.

I have been searching for International/European and/or American astronomy and astrophysical research competitions for the past 5 months or so. I would like to present my research works on variable stars (eclipsing binaries and CVs) and other areas that interest me, such as Active Galactic Nuclei variability . If anyone can recommend any research competitions where I can present my work and possibly win awards, I would be grateful. I would prefer to visit these competitions online, but I am also open to attending in-person events depending on their location. I have already participated in the IAAC Olympiades, but it's not exactly what I am looking for. I am specifically looking for a high school competitions to present my research work. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :icon-smile:

Welcome to TSS Andrii!

"The Astronomical League sponsors the National Young Astronomer Award (NYAA) to recognize the outstanding astronomical research achievements of high-school-age students throughout the United States."

https://www.astroleague.org/national-yo ... d%20States.

Looks like you just missed application deadline for this year but you can apply for next. Will give you time to prepare.

Your could also check NASA site, they may sponsor something like that to.

Thank you for these recommendations. I will definitely look into those opportunities. Is there any way to find something similar but for Europe?

I am not aware of any, maybe some of our European members would know.

Okay, I understand. I'm going to wait for a reply from some European members of TSS. Thank you for the other recommendations though.

Perhaps a more astrophysics related forum?

Each country that participates with ESA has their own specialties so you may want to see which countries study such things.
Reaching out to their Human Resources department may get you some information.
