"In World First, Scientists Share What Was Almost Certainly a Conversation with a Humpback Whale"
https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/in-worl ... k-a-whale/
If the reported "conversation," is representative, then I fear that in the (far?) future, we are going to have a very difficult time conversing with extraterrestrials. It seems to me that it just shouldn't be this difficult to "talk" with whales. If they have an actual language, our linguists (not to mention mathematicians, code analysts, etc) should be able to figure out at least a working fraction of their vocabulary. Or, as Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit likes to say, "faster, please."
