Here is a composite I did a couple years ago at the Salt River Canyon in Arizona. It consists of 3 elements. Star Trails, Long exposure of Hwy 60 leading down the canyon and a Foreground long exposure. This was taken using my Canon 6D with a Rokinon 24mm prime lense. Hope you enjoy it.

Nice shot. But why do the stars appear to start out tracked, with bright round shapes, then go into trailing mode?

That is a feature of the stacking program I used for the star trails, Give you the option. It will also fill in the gaps for you. Nifty piece of software.

Thanks, I've use this extensively in the past when most of my images were with my
DSLR.
