I probably could have gotten more out of this image but I am still learning the processing software (and I didn't want to mess it up ). This is only 2.5 hours of 3 minute exposures. This was done with the Explore Scientific ED102 Telescope and ZWO 533MC Pro Camera. The images were stacked using

New Image: M51 "Whirlpool Galaxy"
This is M51, "The Whirlpool Galaxy". It is the best version of this galaxy that I have done to this point. M51 is an interacting grand-design spiral galaxy. It lies in the constellation Canes Venatici, and was the first galaxy to be classified as a spiral galaxy.

This was done with the Explore Scientific ED102 Telescope and ZWO 533MC Pro Camera. The images were stacked usingDSS and Processed in Pixinsight.

Thanks for the reply, I wanted to get a little more of the dark lanes in the galaxy but I reached a point where I felt I would only mess it up.messier 111 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 1:33 pm very pretty details,
