03/24/25 Sun in CaK

#1

Post by Thefatkitty »

Hi again all; sick of me yet?

I lucked out today with ol' Sol. I left for work at 5:30 this AM to a beautiful sunrise in the east and the almost full Moon setting in the west. I was headed north; great views out both side windows.

The clouds rolled in at about 8 and I thought that was it for the day. Not so, as I was coming home at 1PM it started to clear. Got in, parked the truck and got my Ca-K setup out the door.
Oh yeah, and I fed the cat too. The cat is probably thinking Damn Solarhead human...!!!

I took 7 sets of 2000 frames with Sharpcap. The winds had picked up, but I managed some of the stacks between the gusts. At 100+ frames a second all you need is twenty seconds at most.

I was quite happy with this. Even happier when the clouds rolled in not 15 minutes later. And no, I'm not happy with the clouds, just my timing :D
I also changed the font I usually use for numbering the spots, and cut out the "AR" part. Thoughts?

Anyways, here's today's Sun:

I also did a comparison of AR3615 from yesterday at 3:30, and today at 1:30ish.

That's probably the last I'll see of it, as per my forecast. It's already warmer out and I can feel the humidity already.... At least you'll all get a break from me for the next two days. Can't promise anything after that though
