It said 50%, but your chart says 59%. [edit: D'oh: Apparently just a typo.] If the points are equal per question, I would say 50%, 6/12.

Thanks for doing this!

Thanks Kathy,

I fixed that typo in my list... the 9 and 0 are next to each other on the keyboard.

I changed 2 answers, I shouldn't have done that.
Thank you for this much appreciated quiz.

BTW:
I'm not going to collate scores this month. The questions are designed as an educational quiz for the eclipse. I can see from the answers posted so far that some of the answers are based on seeing solar eclipse images rather than visual, which, if you haven't seen an eclipse before, is understandable. By week 3. in March, I'll publish a set of answers with some explanatory notes about the answers.

For some of the questions, the adjacent answer to the correct can be considered a reasonable response but the listed answer is the most correct response.

Thanks for that Joe, I managed 7/12. Your questions got me thinking; and as much as I love the whole "solarhead" thing, I wish I had more knowledge!

Appreciated and all the best,

Good quiz, 50% for me.

I need to get better at guessing. A dismal performance. Cheers.

Hi Pixelsaurus,
Actually, your score is a bit above the average score to date.

Kicking myself, 8/12, 66%, but had two of those correct and changed them during review on answers, note to self always go with first hunch!!!

Only one to quibble with, the temp question, didn't seem to match my experience, but I have only been to three.

Much fun, greatly appreciated again,
Steve

Don Liebenberg, one of the scientists on board, clocked up more totality minutes in one eclipse than I have over 15 eclipses over the past 30 years.

41.6%. I started out strong but faded in the stretch run. Since I have never studied the subject getting a "D" is not so bad. At least that's what I am telling myself

Solar Eclipse Q&A

Hi All,

I have written some comprehensive answers to this months solar eclipse quiz. It's in PDF form so that you can download it and use it as background info when you are talking to people at any outreach on eclipse day.

Naturally, now that answers have been published, any attempts at the quiz don't count.
PS: I wasn't counting anyway this month. ;)
