ol' Sol in WL and Ca-K 02/24/24

Hi all,

It was a clear and cold day. Still, even with the cold there was a bit of humidity still. I took some white light and Ca-K shots of the Sun. WL was with my C80-HD, 3.8 OD film, 7.5NM SC filter with a UV/IR cut behind that, and my EOS550D at ISO 800 and 1/1600th sec exp. My focus is either off, or it's the humidity. Not my best.

Next up was my WO 61mm with 3.8 film and a Ca-K filter with my ZWO mono camera. Again, focus seems off... AR3590 is huge, and three new spots have shown up from yesterday as I thought they would.

Alright, I'm off to take some shots of the Moon and make sure my focus is good :D

All the best,
Mark

Great images Mark. The Ca-k filter images were my favourites. A lot of detail to explore.

Cool you caught some more Sun, I couldent get focus as much as I tried today...

Just a wonky atmosphere I think.

Best of luck out there Mark!
