Arp 307 is part of Arp’s Galaxy Groups class. It consists of the three galaxies at the center of the image in Leo:
NGC 2872 (UGC 5018, PGC 26733 and others) – the elliptical at the right (west) – located approximately 157 million light-years away.
NGC 2873 (PGC 26742 and others) – the galaxy above the other two.
NGC 2874 (UGC 5021, PGC 26740 and others) – the large spiral – located approximately 185 million light-years away.
Luminance – 27x600s – 270 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 10:11:8x300s – 50:55:40 minutes each – binned 2x2
415 minutes total exposure – 6 hours 55 minutes
Imaged April 18th and 21st, November 12th and 21st and December 9th and 10th, 2023 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at
f/8 2432mm.
