After spending a night playing with magnfication on the moon with the 10 inch i decided to do the same thing with the AT 102 EDL 4 inch frac. Starting with a 11mm eyepiece i worked down using a 8.5, then a 6.7 and finally maxing out with a 4.5 for almost 160x. All images were what you would expect from a frac.

On to part 2. I inserted a 2x focal extender and repeated the process with the same eyepieces in the same order. The images were fine up to the 6.7mm at 212x. I did notice at that point the tops of the craters now had a yellowish tint to them. I did not try the 4.5 which would have been an insane 316x.

Jupiter went thru the same process with the best images coming in at 158x and 166x. The equatorial bands were visible as were the belts near to the poles. It is worth noting that by the time i got to Jupiter the moon was already wrecking havoc on the image quality

All in all a productive hour. No filters were used for this, but i probably should have.
