These kinds of observations have most certainly caused a few raised eyebrows and a lot of head scratching. It’s good that people are testing the plausible causes. Thanks for an interesting read.

You need to read the original paper to see the actual test results. But the explanation of how they tested it follows the sentence that you pointed out.
