Everyone is congratulating everyone else, BUT all that's been said is that there is a faint signal from the spacecraft high gain antenna.

From Ars Technica:

“ … Finally, about two hours later, Intuitive Machines provided more definitive information on the social media site X: "After troubleshooting communications, flight controllers have confirmed Odysseus is upright and starting to send data. Right now, we are working to downlink the first images from the lunar surface." … “

Congratulations to the Intuitive Machines Team for landing on the Moon!

Well done Intuitive Machines!

I assumed it crashed and so went to bed last night! Excellent news this morning.

The trick was communicating with the lander. Not having to say Houston we have a problem was a great first step. Thanks Stephen. Also the stock of intuitive machines soared 30% in late trading. It had gone public via a merger with a blank check company awhile ago. Great news for the commercial space industry!

Latest update from Intuitive Machines.

"Lunar Surface Day One Update (23FEB2024 0818 CST)
Odysseus is alive and well. Flight controllers are communicating and commanding the vehicle to download science data. The lander has good telemetry and solar charging.

We continue to learn more about the vehicle’s specific information (Lat/Lon), overall health, and attitude (orientation). Intuitive Machines CEO Steve Altemus will participate in a press conference later today to discuss this historic moment. Press conference information will be coordinated with NASA and published shortly."

It's great to hear everything is up and running!

There were a few tense moments when it first landed.

Where are the pictures???
Has anyone seen any pictures from the spacecraft after it landed?

They talked about a remote camera that was supposed to detach and take images as it landed. Nothing I've heard has mentioned it since it landed.

Thanks for the update, at least the systems are working and science payloads can be deployed. Let's see what the next 9 days bring!
I am waiting for the Eagle cam to be deployed, to bad it had to stay put during the landing phase, imagine the images of the lander touching down and gently tipping over! Who knows, without those cubesats on board at the time of touchdown the balance may have been a bit better and the tip over could have been avoided.
But still an amazing result for Intuitive machines.
