I saw this video on the The Astro Imaging Channel (TAIC) the other day and thought it included a very interesting discussion on some of the details of sub exposure lengths that was shared by Greg Crinklaw. What I found particularly interesting was showing the impact of light polution on SNR and increasing exposure lengths. The gist of the sub exposure discussion starts around 19:30.
