Yeah, cleared up finally here last night.

Congratulations! I know how you feel. After a week of Rain we finally had sun for the last three days.

Got some haze and mild cirrus clouds, hopefully can still see some schtuff in spite of that.
Got my C90, my pencil, and my journal open to the Jupiter section, just in case!

The Sun actually came out for two hours over New Jersey

Back to clouds, but it was certainly an inspiring 2 hours

Well I can see Jupiter.
Hazy enough to not be able to discern the moons, but it was just joyous to see that bright golden just the same.
So instead of Galilean frolics I sketched blur instead lol.

They aren't very fancy.
Just a circle with what bands I can see and some small dots of where the moons are. I do try to make the moon positions pretty accurate.


I haven't figured out how to put images on here anyway so no fear that I will be subjecting anyone to my scribbles lol!

Got all four of those happy dancers, bands nicely visible!
Trying out a couple new eyepieces and a 2X Barlow, how NIIICE! No blur sketches tonight.


Will try for a couple nebulae a bit later.

I’m traveling without a scope, but will be home later today. It’d be nice to get some observing in tonight, but the forecast looks dicey. We’ll see.

We have experienced similar times here in the NorthEast. Tonight, I brought out the ETX-90 to get a quick peak at Jupiter, and to take it all in.

Unfortunately, I did not clear-out the back yard as well as I normally do, as there was a lot of added fill dirt added at all the low spots (still clearing/grading for the observatory). Took a nice slip and almost fall carrying it all out, and really twanged my back. But I saved the ETX at least.

Should have just stuck with the back porch, but it was so dang clear I just had to go out.

I also got out with the little C5 for a peak at Jupiter, it was a bit too cold for me, but fun nevertheless.

May try some solar tomorrow

We have had a few nice days here in Ohio, bonus days for February to be sure. I have actually had 2 decent sessions this month so far. I am hoping for one more good night to spend in and around Orion. I have the targets all selected, now if i can get the temps and sky to cooperate
