vdB 61 (HD 39398, HIP 27773 and many others) is the star and reflection nebula at the center of this image. The star is located approximately 1,324 light-years away in Orion.

Luminance – 36x600s – 360 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB –10:10:11x300s – 50:50:55 minutes each – binned 2x2

515 minutes total exposure – 8 hours 35 minutes

Imaged January 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th, 2024 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
