Last but not least, here is the accompanying Bayeaux tapestry from the period...(circa 1066) showing the comet which was an omen of Harold's downfall..."They wonder at the star"

I find it ironic you should post this; I recently picked up a "treasure" of my own, Sky & Telescope mags from 1986-2002, all months. I was reading the May 1997 issue before I went to bed last night:

W/L - C80-HD with Baader 5.0 & 3.8 Solar film, Solar Continuum 7.5nm and UV/IR filters with a Canon EOS 550D.
