This is actually difficult choosing one band a day out of a huge amount of Canadian talent.

Today we have Red Rider with Lunatic Fringe

A sad moment, while looking for tomorrows Canadian artist I just discovered that Jerry Doucette has recently passed.
When in my first band, Mama Let Him Play was one of the only songs that we covered from a Canadian.
RIP Mr. Doucette

I don't know how many of you remember Jack Horkheimer's "Star Gazer" TV broadcast on PBS every Sunday evening. Here is some of his background:

Horkheimer started his astronomy career in 1964, when he was 26, after he moved to Miami and met astronomer Arthur Smith. Smith was the president of the Miami Museum of Science and the chief of the Southern Cross Astronomical Society. Horkheimer started volunteering at the planetarium writing shows and was later offered a position with the museum. Smith asked Horkheimer to run the Miami Space Transit Planetarium when it opened in 1966. Horkheimer's shows were successful and the planetarium went from losing money to becoming profitable. Horkheimer worked his way up to become the planetarium's educational director and eventually the executive director. Jack Horkheimer was probably best known for his naked-eye astronomy television show Jack Horkheimer: Star Hustler, which started in 1976 and was broadcast nationally in 1985 on PBS. Created, produced and written by Horkheimer, the show changed its name to Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer in 1997.
Now we come to the theme song that Jack Horkheimer used for all of his educational astronomy TV shows. Up next from 1974, here is Isao Tomita using a Moog Synthesizer, performing Claude Debussy's Arabesque #1 as Snowflakes Are Dancing:

I well remember the show. Just for grins here is the Debussy original with Aldo Ciccolini, piano.

As expected, Google knows I'm always looking for telescope parts and keeps trying to "help" by showing me great deals on $5,000 scopes.
However ...

For all of you that have ordered any new astronomy gear and anticipating the delivery or hoping for a clear night to do some observing, this song is for you. Up next from 1981, here is Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers with The Waiting Is the Hardest Part:

I hope that you enjoy this song and hang in there.

Makam Uzäl Sakil “Turna”

Played by Jordi Savall and Montserrat Figueras and friends. Makam Uzäl Sakil is the name of the scale used. "Turna" is the name of the anonymously written traditional piece.

Two songs from a favourite band of mine. I would listen to them at the scope but its hard to observe when dancing around the yard
