Hello all. Here is something from Billy Satellite and I have the original LP album. He also recorded the first "I Wanna Go Back" on this album which was later re-recorded by Eddie Money in 1986 with a video and became a #1 hit. But right now, I want to say hello to a NEW 2022 and a big goodbye to a HORRID 2021. Up next from 1984, here is Billy Satellite with "ByeBye Baby":
Have a better and great New Year everyone.
I meant to post this when it was announced on 26Dec, as you can see I considered it very, very important in the music world.
To save you from having to go through the trouble of google translate, it states 'Chris Martin of Coldplay says the band will quit recording in 2025.
3 years advance notice... I am not sure if I can still celebrate that long!
Back to the music!

There is currently a bit of negative sentiment surrounding the rising COVID test "positivity".
But, but,but... the Spice Girls said we need positivity.

I had just finished listening to Disturbed-Sound Of Silence while signing in, not the best musical followup
I have been busy digitizing a lot of older music this week, hence the abundance of 2015/16 music this week
Since I am heading back to work in a few hours I will post 2.
First is Skald (Icelandic for poet), a french folk group that uses historical Norse period instruments and singing techniques. No guitars or electronics here!
The second is Larkin Poe, a blues duo (sisters) from Atlanta, USA. They are descendants of Edgar Alan Poe.

Have you ever heard of Apocalyptica?
This version only has 3 of the members, normally they are the 4 cellos of rock.

@Lady Fraktor , yes I know Apocalyptica. This was a very musical performance of a lovely piece. Thanks!
One thing I noticed is that the player on the melody line had the tension in the bow hair turned very high. I was surprised by that. Even more surprising to me was how sensitive his phrasing was with that level of tension. Interesting.
The bass line player had chosen a less tensioned bow, more like what I’m used to.
I couldn’t get the video to play on the iPad and had to use the phone. Thanks again!

I was accidentally re-exposed to Melanie's "Brand New Key" recently and it now dwells within as an ear worm due to its effective musical construction. HOWEVER, I will spare you all that and simply look for something to displace it.
One piece that I've found consistently effective is for creating an anti ear worm ear worm is "Lascia ch'io pianga" from Haendel's Rinaldo. Here's Joyce di Donato's take.
Hi all. Our lives wouldn't be complete without dreams. About a better life, life after Covid, new astronomy gear, or a better night sky. Here is a great song from the Irish band the Cranberries and Dolores really belts it out with some dual track harmony of herself on here. Up next from 1992, here are the Cranberries with Dreams:
But my music memory wouldn't be complete without including the best American baritone singer in recent history. Now from 1963, here is Roy Orbison with In Dreams:
