Has anyone seen or imaged this comet yet?
Been seeing a lot of images over on social media platforms, some with only the camera on a tripod.

I did take a cursory glance at our AP sections and did not immediately see any images, might have missed them?

Looking forward to seeing what you guys can get!
Good luck.

Link below will lead you to the target.

First time I'm hearing about this one!
Too bad too, a couple of days ago it would have been framed nicely with the Leo Triplets!

I have seen numerous images of the comet with the Leo triplets, that's what made me look here on the forums for any images.
I don't do any AP but it still seems to be in a good position for aiming a camera at.
Hopefully the TSS astrophotography crowd will get a few great images to share.

Just checked Skysafari and the comet will be close to a 85.1% illuminated Moon tonight(30Dec).
Might just chuck a spanner in the works.

Skysafari has the comet brightness at +9.2 , this coupled to the moon and a generous helping of light pollution might push it out of visual reach, not sure about the AP side though.
Good luck either way!

I'll try to check it out visually if it's clear. Thanks for the heads up Clinton.

Visual estimates place it around Mv 8. It should remain at Mv 7-8 for Jan and Feb.

I think I have seen it as a smudged dim blot with my biggest binocs between fog and partly cloudy skies with a big bright moon.
Will continue to get out looking on whatever clearness we get here in The Mud State.
