Thinking about a Stelarvue Refractor. Looking at a SVA130EDT. I like the idea of figuring in the US. Prices seems comparable. Anyone with experience using this line.

I have been a very happy Stellarvue user/ owner since 2004.
The 130 mm will be a great size and keep you happy for decades.

I have owned both SV110ED and SVX127D. Both great scopes. Excellent optics and build quality. Really great customer service!

SV RACI finders get excellent reviews as well. Obviously not the same, but it speaks well of their products in general.

I actually have a StellarVue SVA130EDT that I'm looking to sell for a friend. I haven't listed it anywhere yet but let me know if you are interested in mine. It belonged to a friend that passed away a few years ago and his widow is now finally ready to part with some of his telescopes. It's in excellent condition as my friend passed away only about 6 months after purchasing the scope. He upgraded the focuser to a Moonlight focuser. We couldn't find a reducer/flattener that matched this scope nor find the cable and hand controller for the focuser but those are both things that can be purchased separately.
Here's a few pics including a snap of the Star Test report that shows the scope has a Strehl rating of .967.

Optics are clean, don't let the dust scare you. No fungus here in the desert.

Asking $3000 and willing to maybe meet you halfway between Henderson, NV and Nathrop, CO.

Enjoy the telescope when it arrives, I am sure you will find the optics and build are top tier.

I did not even realize that StellarVue was still making/selling SVA's. I thought they only had SVX's now.
I probably need to adjust my price down a bit since they are selling SVA130's for $2500 now.
$2400 with the Moonlight focuser seems in line if anyone else is interested. I'm not really interested in shipping it though, it weighs a chunk! But I'm happy to travel a reasonable distance from Las Vegas, say 3hrs driving in any direction.

I have used my SVA130 a handful of times now for visual and WOW. Absolutely gorgeous thru the lens views. Will be setting it up for Astrophoto very soon.

I grew up having nothing but SCT's and newts besides my very first cheap Sears department store refractor that hooked me on the hobby.
A good friend talked me into buying a refractor about 10 years ago. I'm now officially a refractor snob.

Congratulations Jeff.
I am strictly visual and absolutely love the views with the various Stellarvue refractors I have had.
Even now my travel scope is a Stellarvue 80 mm

Enjoy the new refractor!
