Moon and Venus this morning

Hi all,

I left for work this morning at 5 to cloudy skies; my truck informed me it was -5C (23F) when I pulled out. Explains why I could see my breath.

I got to Hamiltom at a bit after 6AM, the sky had cleared and I took this with my iPhone 12. The 22% Waning Moon with Venus below and a few stars. Yeah, the Moon looks like a blob as does Venus, but it was nice to be able to look up at some clearish skies for a change :D

The brightest star is Arcturus at mag 0.15, and the dimmest is Chertan at 3.30. I could see a few more than the phone did, but maybe mag 4 at the most. Light pollution...!!

Cloudy and even colder now and I'm off to the dentist. Have a good night/day all!

Turns out the Moon is going to occult Venus tomorrow morning between 09:39 and 10:41 UT.

Seeing Venus re-appear from the dark side of the Moon will be a sight to see!
