ahh yes bintel is one of our top retailers, sometimes they'll do special orders, might email them to see if they know someone who sells blanks .

Hi Rob,
Post a question in the ATM section of the “Lost in Space” forum.

Mark Suchting reads that forum, there’s also a guy from NZ who sells some blanks and there’s a long running sticky called, “Are there any mirror makers left in Australia.”

What size are you looking for?
Joe

Cheers for the info Joe, I might check it out, um someone messaged me and said that they got some blanks from telescopes-astronomy.au a few months ago, so I might try emailing them again.

Rob,

What size are you after, and out of interest, what are you planning to build?

I have a 10" corning pyrex blank and a 10" composite plate glass tool multiple sheets of plate glass glued together with epoxy. i don't believe that Corning pyrex blanks are available any longer, they stopped making them many years ago. This was part of a special order direct to corning made by a telescope making group. The 10" is ground down to fine grit (1600) at f6. However, I later acquired a complete 12" f6 Royce Conical mirror and secondary set. So I stopped working on the 10".

Looking to preferably build 10" f5 but 8"-12" is ok. Building More for a learning experience , I find 10" f5 practical for use or even 8"
