I set up my hand made 6" f7 Newtonian last night. The seeing was very steady. Even at 200x and the image was quite still. After gazing and scanning the terminator, I went in and quickly grabbed my DSLR and using a 50mm camera lens and a 14mm Denkmeier took an afocal shot of Mare Ibrium.

You must have had great seeing. I mentioned seeing Saturn and Jupiter extremely crisp at Lake Cachuma last week. Last night I tried it again and it was horrible due to poor seeing - not anywhere near the Cachuma event. The humidity was high, the fog came rolling in and there was wind too. The Moon still looked crisp, but the turbulence was much worse, as if you see the surface at the bottom of a boiling pan of water. What is nice is that when the moon is out you can just look at how badly it is boiling to find out how good or how bad the seeing is.
