Annular Eclipse - 14 October
Don't forget the annular eclipse on Saturday (14 Oct) in the western hemisphere. We had planned to travel out to Utah to the see the annularity, however, I had surgery in August and we decided not to make the road trip. I had planned to see what we could see at home, but we will be rained out it seems. If you have the opportunity I hope you will give it a look, particularly if you live out west. Here is a link for planning purposes and they also will be streaming the eclipse, which I will check out for sure. Have fun!

The entry into winter's weather is proving to be quite problematic. Good luck to any of you all who can find a clear spot for this eclipse.

If in the US and you can't be there, the Weather Channel is also showing it live as well, though one has to endure commercials!

Re: Annular Eclipse - 14 October
Cloudy here and mostly out of range - too far north. But I'll tune in - thanks for the tip Alan.

Re: Annular Eclipse - 14 October
Ithe sun is about 70% eclipsed here. The sunshine feels a bit eery, not quite normal. It's also colder than one would expect with a clear sky like this.

Re: Annular Eclipse - 14 October
While I couldn't see the sun I was looking at the mountain with the sun's rays on it across the way. It eventually faded and there was a shadowy appearance. Pretty cool.

Re: Annular Eclipse - 14 October
The appearance around you is surreal. We experienced that during the 2017 total eclipse which we went to Kentucky to view. The shadows were quite weird. We plan to go back to our hometown in Indiana next April for the next total eclipse, but that month is notoriously variable in terms of clear weather. Enjoy the views Henk.
