:Astronomer1:
Here is a practice shot I took during last night's blue supermoon.

EQUIPMENT
C11 telescope; CGX mount; ZWO ASI120MC camera; Baader contrast boost filter

METHODOLOGY
I took 5,000 frames at f/10 2800mm. I kept 1,000 frames that were stacked in AS2. I used wavelets in Registax 6. I finished it up in Photoshop elements

RESULTS
The goal of the experiment was to practice shooting at 2800 mm. In the past I have used an f/6.3 reducer, which is easier. I also wanted to balance my colors. The last time I used that filter my pictures came away with a muddy red look.

The results were mixed. I like the color balance better than the red. I was able to get the shot. I had some distractions. I had a full moon, cloudy night, and two unexpected guests that saw me out there and wanted to look at the moon and planets. I used up more computer memory that I expected. My picture came out soft, but better than earlier attempts.

I still just cannot seem to get a sharp focus at high resolutions. I guess I need more practice, less interruptions, and better seeing conditions.

Probably more the seeing than the focus Rob.

Have you tried stacking just the best quality 10% or even 5% of frames?

I stack them all and st the program at 20%, but I do not go through each frame and kick out the bad ones. I'm not sure how to do that.
