Well this isn't really a joke but it ends with a good chuckle. It's only 54 seconds.

I wonder why Texas? Most "sightings" are in the NW states (I suspect there are more hallucinogenic mushrooms in the NW forests)...

BTW, I note that "The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization" which supposedly checks these things out, was founded in the '90's by Matt Moneymaker...
Is that name a coincidence? I think not. ;)
Telescopes: 12" f5 dob, Celestron CPC800, 150mmf5 Celestron achro, Tak TSA102, TV76, ETX125...

Eyepieces: way too many (is that possible?), but I do like my TV 32mm plossl, 13mm Nagler T6, 27mm Panoptic and 3-6mm Nagler zoom, plus Fujiyama 18mm and 25mm orthos and Tak 7.5mm LE

I must tell you a big foot story. Wifey and I were driving up the Kaiser Pass road in the Central Sierra Nevada mountains. This is at 9000 ft. elevation and a narrow road way beyond where most folks dare to go. The trees thinned out and through them we saw a large meadow. Stopping and walking through the trees to look at the meadow I noticed a trail cam tied to a tree. Oh how I wished I had access to a big foot costume.

I know I've posted about this before, but I still get a kick out of tracking my interplanetary on-line purchases as they pass thru Earth's port of entry:

There's a Mars stop on one of the METRA lines here (former site of Mars Candy), so you can ride a train to Mars.

Mars is a station on Metra's Milwaukee District West Line in Chicago, Illinois. The station is 9.1 miles away from Chicago Union Station, the eastern terminus of the line. As of 2018, Mars is the 175th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 144 weekday boardings.

Where are the 144 Martians going each week?

I had to try it.

This is what the journey looks like, courtesy Google Maps:
Tour the Solar System!.JPG

I made some concessions because Uranus pulled a few surprises. First surprise is that on your way from Venus TX to Earth City MI, you actually drive through Uranus MI. It's a long detour if you want to avoid it "until its proper turn". The other surprise is that your other choice for "Uranus" is in Alaska, meaning you have to make a decision. Either drive all the way from Saturn TX to Uranus AK and then back to Neptune NJ (nearly crossing the entirety of North America twice) or drive to Neptune first and then "backtrack" to Uranus, finishing your journey in Alaska. I like the second option because it saves at least 4 days of driving, and I would rather end up in Alaska than New Jersey.

The journey also passes through Canada, so legally, you Americans will have to encounter some "aliens" along the way. Also be aware that you will embark on a ferry to get to Uranus AK. Expect to don a "protective suit" before you "launch".
