Wow! It's been almost 2 years since anyone's posted on the Meade Telescope forum! Hmm....Meade Telescope or the Skywatcher mount forum? Looks like Meade wins it!
I bought the EQ6-R Pro with 44 pound weight capability specifically for my Meade 10" Schmidt-Newtonian because it was way under-mounted on the original Meade LXD55 mount rated at 30 pounds max. (The OTA by itself weighs 30+ pounds)
A few years ago, I pieced together an incomplete SkyQuest Dobson mount with plumbing parts to use with my scope until I could afford a more robust EQ mount.
Last week, I bought the EQ6-R Pro mount, but before I could mount the scope, I needed to find the tube rings, Wilson-style rings, and dovetail bar. I couldn't find the bolts to attach the tube rings to the bar, so I bought new ones at Ace Hardware. Luckily, I had some extra counterweights to balance the scope because the EQ6-R Pro only came with two!
Can't wait for First Light to see how well this mount works!

I'm a visual observer, but with this mount I am playing with the idea of buying an affordable used Canon EOS DSLR, maybe something like a T7 to learn astrophotography .
