Amazing!
I was interested in photography when I was in my teens and 20’s (60’s and 70’s). I had a blast shooting and developing film.
But, I can’t imagine how tough it was to doAP back then.
Yes, compared to now, the quality was poor. Even the images from large observatories was nothing compared to today.
We are so fortunate to practice (and I mean practice) this cool hobby in these times with outstanding image capture applications andcmos cameras.

Nice article. It could have gone into a bit more detail about all kinds of software for autoguiding, stacking, plate solving, alignment, neural net image processing algorithms and video-based planetary imaging. What we can do nowadays is beyond comparison with only a few decades ago.
