Saw it on CN Classifieds; a year-old SkyWatcher EQ6-R Pro mount in excellent condition complete with tripod, hand controller, power cord, USB connector for laptop, and these upgrades: an ADM Dual -EQ6-R Pro XL-Dual Series saddle, larger black adjustment knobs, custom Husky wheeled case with foam inserts for the EQ head, and separate case for the tripod and other accessories.

Asking $1350 USD, and located about an hour away, I couldn't resist! The seller and I made a deal for $100 less and I'm picking it up tomorrow afternoon after I get off work. It's sunny now with a few clouds. I wonder how long that will last!
:confusion-shrug:

I couldn't sleep last night, tossing and turning the whole time. After working my 5 hours OT today and for the week, I hurried home, changed clothes, attended to my dog, and headed south on the freeway toward Tucson for the 1 hour drive to pick up the mount.

When I got there, the seller opened up the cases and showed me the goods, including the instruction manuals and other paperwork (it's got another year on the warranty), and I loaded them up and headed back home. Whoo, the Husky case holding the EQ head and weights are quite heavy, the green Plano case with the tripod , not so much, but both cases have wheels which help.

Since the sky was already filling with storm clouds, I knew when I got home I would not get First Light tonight! :? So I set it up in my front room with my 5" frac attached and Whoa! 😮, this mount is way bigger than I thought it could be! And I LIKE IT!

I really want to see my Meade 10" f/4 Schmidt Newtonian on this mount, but I need to find the rings and dovetail for it first.

(Sorry, I forgot to take pics with the equipment inside the cases BEFORE setting it up.)

Thanks, Graeme! Can't wait to see it in action. I haven't set up and tested the hand controller and motors yet.

I've only ever used the Meade hand controller, so hopefully there's not too much of a learning curve. I read somewhere that about 99% of users of this mount are astro-photographers and I am just an observer. Hey, who knows, maybe I'll buy a camera and take a few photos. Couldn't hurt, right?!
