Cool solar work from the Mars Perservance rover

#1

Post by AstroBee »

It's so cool that NASA points the Perservance rover camera at the sun every day to measure the intensity and predict dust storm levels.
One of the side benefits is that it also sees very large sunspots before they rotate into view from Earth. There's two big ones on the horizon for tomorrow or Saturday.

Hi Greg. Wow, as you say this is a side benefit from Perseverance as it can make us aware of the solar activity on the far side before it is seen from the Earthside. Thanks for finding and sharing this image (AR3371 and AR3372) link with us on here Greg.
