FINALLY, a View!
A few years ago (when I first discovered the old site) I was constantly cutting down trees in the back yard to get a decent view. Unfortunately, the more I cut , the faster the trees left grew. I could hardly make any headway, until now.
All I had to do was turn 180 degrees, walk 350 yards and clear out the last trees between me and a wide-open field without tree line for at least a quarter mile or more.
Depending on where I set up now I have open views southeast, south, southwest from near horizon to just past zenith. No more night treks through jungle and briar to find a decent view!
The bonus (other than astronomically speaking, I did not harm healthy trees to get this wonderful panoramic view.

Looking good.
I took a few big ones out that were in danger of hitting the house, and it really opened up the southern sky
