NASA's Artemis moon rocket will cost $6 billion more than planned
From Space.com:
"The Space Launch System's booster and engine are now projected to cost at least $13.1 billion over 25 years."
https://www.space.com/nasa-sls-megarock ... ays-report
Here we go again! When will the US finally learn that the Government Contractors are sucking the country dry, while the Independent Companies are moving forward faster and making much better progress?

Re: NASA's Artemis moon rocket will cost $6 billion more than planned
Well, the SLS is also being built by private companies as was the Saturn V.
I'm also a bit concerned about what they will use as a lander. The LM was the cheapest part of the Apollo program.
Blue Origin got a go ahead last week, let's see how much money they want.
Starship in theory could fly to Mars, that seems way too expensive to just use as a lander.
We need something more like the LM for a lander.

Cost overruns and ennui seem like a big problem for the traditional NASA contractors like Boeing, Lockheed, Morton Thiokol etc.
