I finally made my choice.
the winner is eqr6 pro with belt drive.
My TS 125mm telescope arrived in Montreal.
I needed a solid mount.
I discussed with razz and juno16 and after weighing the pros and cons, my choice was clearer.
Thank you both for your answers to my questions.
now I have to wait, but not so long I am told.

Good choice, I've been using mine for two years now. Running at 59% rated capacity, my guiding runs about .3 to .7, depending on sky quality and seeing.

Mine isn't belt driven. The warrantee is almost up, so I'm considering the Rowan belt mod for mine. My belt driven az-eq5 runs between .1 and .2

You'll be pleased for years to come...

Clear Skies,
Chris

hope to receive it soon.
I also hope it will be of better quality than the first one I had a few years ago.

Hopefully you have no issues with this one Jean-Yves.
Many years ago the EQ-5 Synta mounts were the workhorse mounts of the hobby.
Not exactly perfect but they did their job night after night.
Once manufacturers started on the bigger and better idea the electronics seem to have slowly performed worse.

I just received the email I've been waiting for since May.
my MOUNT as arrives at the store in Montreal, finally.
I can't pick it up until next week because of my work, but I'm happy, that's the most important thing.
side note: I would have liked to become more familiar with a warmer temperature in the evening, but oh well.

Don't forget, you can practice your setup in the garage to get familiar before you go out into the cold to set it up for real.

Congrats on what promises to be a new fun adventure for you.

Cheers,

Cheers,
thank you JT,
I don't have a garage but my basement is walk out so it's very easy to get in or out.
I'm going to practice there.
I just hope it goes better than the last one I had.

How exciting! You will love it, I'm sure. I can tell you, I was surprised how massive the equatorial head is (and heavier than I want it to be), but it is a wonderful mount!
